He’s really outnumbered now! Ryan Reynolds just revealed the sex of his third child with Blake Lively, and it’s another girl for the growing family. The actor-slash-producer broke the news by sharing the first public photo of the couple with their new baby, who was reportedly born on October 4. The purpose of the post wasn’t just to give fans a glimpse of their newborn, though. Reynolds’ actual motivation behind the post just goes to show this newcomer is one lucky kid.
On Wednesday, Reynolds took to Twitter to encourage people — and specifically Canadians, like himself — to vote in favor of a candidate who will continue to push climate policy in the right direction. To do so, he shared a photo of himself and Lively snuggled up in British Columbia with, presumably, their newest addition. We say presumably since Reynolds blurred out the child’s face and drew a smiley face over it. But even with obscuring the baby’s face, Reynolds dropped a major detail about their newborn.

That means Reynolds and Lively’s daughters James, 4 ½, and Inez, 2 ½, now have a little sister to join the ladies of the Lively-Reynolds households. And it seems as though the protective parents will follow the same pattern of information dissemination about this new baby as they did with her big sisters — very gradually revealing information in small bits. First step? The sex of the baby.
Other than that, there’s not much to know about the newborn yet. People was the first to confirm the baby’s birth, and this photo shared by Reynolds seems to serve as a public confirmation that the baby was, in fact, born. However, the couple hasn’t yet released any details surrounding the birth or clued fans into the baby’s name.
And, hey, that’s their prerogative! Besides, they’ve been pretty amazing in the past about sharing hilarious glimpses into their lives as parents, which includes opening up about their kids’ names and cute personalities. For now, the family of five is likely just focusing on being together and adapting to having another little girl in the house.
Well, that and climate change. Can we be their kids, too?
