Kate Beckinsale, Kate Hudson, Natalie Morales, Josh Duhamel, LeBron James, and Arnold Schwarzenegger were among many who had to evacuate their homes Monday. Causing incredible destruction and damage, California’s Getty Fire has forced a reported 200,000 Southern California residents from their homes.
The fire erupted Monday morning in the hills surrounding Los Angeles’ famed Getty Center. According to Newsweek, the flames engulfed a reported 600 plus acres but are not however, expected to damage the countless works of art inside the Getty campus as the center reportedly has been designed with fire prevention in mind.
Many took to social media as their homes were in flames.
Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted: “We evacuated safely at 3:30 this morning. If you are in an evacuation zone, don’t screw around. Get out. Right now I am grateful for the best firefighters in the world, the true action heroes who charge into the danger to protect their fellow Californians.”

On Monday, several other celebrities including John Cena, Chris Pratt, and James Gunn all pledged donations to help first responders.
“I want them (Paramount) to pick a charity, pick a charity that aids our first responders as soon as possible,” Cena said in a video posted to Twitter. “And on behalf of ‘Playing With Fire,’ and out of respect to the people that I truly believe are heroes, my response will be to immediately donate half a million dollars to this cause.” (Paramount soon responded suggesting The California Fire Foundation and The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation as the recipients for Cena’s donations.)
