Will it be “Mum” or “Dada”? Because Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie is reportedly trying to talk already, meaning the royal tot will be saying his first word before we know it. A source tells Us Weekly that the six-month-old is well on his way to becoming verbal and, in general, is just making tons of developmental progress in recent months. And that’s to say nothing of just how cute the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son is.
In this week’s issue of Us, a source with inside access to the royals gave the outlet a little progress report on baby Archie. “He’s a strong baby and you can tell he’s super smart. He can sit up without support and roll over, and he’s almost crawling. He can’t talk yet, but he’s trying!” the source said, pointing out that it’s highly possible the little one’s first word will be… Dada.
“When Harry walks into the room, Archie gets so excited, he puts his arms out — his way of saying, ‘Pick me up!'” said the source. “You can tell Archie’s going to be a social butterfly. He’s at his happiest when he’s around people.” In fact, insisted the source, Archie is “such a happy baby” that he “rarely cries.”

We certainly won’t begrudge Meghan and Harry an easy baby since they haven’t exactly had it easy when it comes to dealing with the intense scrutiny of the British media. Plus, it’s fun to follow along as Archie’s personality continues to develop.
Right now, that includes taking in everything around him. “He takes a keen interest in his surroundings and is already engaging and interacting with people. He loves to be entertained. And he isn’t a needy baby — he’ll happily go to Harry and Meghan’s friends without kicking up a fuss,” said the source.
Happily, having a low-fuss baby means there’s not as much fussing between Mum and Dad. Any parent will tell you that things can get tense when baby isn’t sleeping through the night and, by proxy, neither are you. “There were times when [Meghan and Harry] would bicker over the smallest things because they were so tired,” shared the insider. “But now… there’s less strain on the marriage. They can finally enjoy some ‘couple time’ in the evening.”
Ah, time to focus on the fun stuff. Bring on those first words, baby Archie!
