13 Chrissy Teigen Reactions to John Legend Being Named People‘s Sexiest Man Alive

She may not officially win any awards for it, but Chrissy Teigen’s reactions to John Legend being named People‘s Sexiest Man Alive for 2019 deserve a damn trophy. When the news broke on Tuesday night that Teigen’s husband had been crowned with the honor, everyone waited with bated breath. Surely, a few zingers or pithy one-liners in response to her husband’s new title were forthcoming — and, happily, Teigen did not disappoint.

Of course, no matter how much Teigen trolls Legend, we all know she’s super-proud of him. That’s what makes the way she razzes him so enjoyable. It’s all in good fun and, c’mon, it’s frickin’ hilarious. Considering she likes to give her husband a hard time publicly about, well, every little thing, it’s not surprising Teigen couldn’t contain her response to this particular thing in just one social media post. Nay, Teigen couldn’t even keep it contained to two or three posts. In epic Teigen fashion, she went all-in over Legend’s Sexiest Man Alive status, reacting in no fewer than 13 posts.

At first, Teigen refrained from spilling the scoop on Legend’s new title. “I have big news and it’s killing me I can’t say it and it’s not a baby,” she tweeted, preemptively squashing any pregnancy rumors in the process.

She then followed it with a seemingly sweet and innocent Instagram post — Legend’s cover, captioned with, “You’ve come a long way, baby.”

Never one to keep it out of the gutter for long, Teigen also shared the cover on Twitter, joking that she’d finally fulfilled her dream of “having boned @people’s sexiest man alive.”

And since her Sexiest Man Alive is also an EGOT, she went ahead and updated his acronym for him.

Sharing People‘s article about Legend earning the title, Teigen tweeted a string of heart-eye emojis.

But, bringing it back around to reality, she shared a video of her kids responding to the news. Spoiler alert? Miles just cries in the background while his sister Luna asks Teigen to turn their movie back on.

Make no mistake, Teigen is already gearing up for the inevitable “Him? Really??” comments headed their way.

And when a fan tried to go ahead and call out some of those naysayers, Teigen joked, “No don’t send it to me please. I like to see these people naturally, in the wild.”

She made an exception for conservative talking-head Krystle Baker, who doubted Legend could throw her over his shoulder when needed (when would that be needed?).

Retweeting Legend’s post showing side-by-side photos of last year’s Sexiest Man, Idris Elba, and himself circa 1995, Teigen pointed out that we haven’t seen a pic of Elba from ’95 yet.

When People shared an animated cover of Legend smoothly looking up at the camera, his wife sweetly responded, “Oh for fuck’s sake baaaaaahahahahaah.” Heartwarming really, don’t you think?

Teigen then alerted everyone to the fact that she updated her bio. Which, for the record, now lets the world know she’s sleeping with the Sexiest Man Alive.

And, finally, she graciously let fans know that the Sexiest Man Alive is also a man who makes sandwiches for his wife.

Yeah, we’re inclined to say Teigen deserves her own award category. If Legend is EGOTSMA, Teigen is QOATMTEGOTSMA — aka, the Queen of All Things Married to EGOTSMA.
