Liam Hemsworth Googled “Thirst Trap” After Being Told He Posted One

That feeling when you’re so foxy, you casually post thirst traps on Instagram without even knowing what that phrase means. For the uninitiated, a “thirst trap” is a hot photo posted with the purpose of soliciting positive feedback from drooling followers. Such is life for Liam Hemsworth, who was educated pretty quickly on the term after getting called out for his latest social media post.

Hemsworth had taken to Instagram on November 30 to share a sweet black-and-white snapshot of himself, along with his dog Dora. In the pic, snapped by his brother, Hemsworth is clad in a cozy, fuzzy sweater open over a simple white T-shirt.

“@hemsworthluke captured this moment of me and my best friend Dora. Good god I love this dog,” Hemsworth captioned the post, which currently has close to 1.3 million likes.

The same day, his Isn’t It Romantic co-star Adam DeVine took to the comment section in Hemsworth’s feed to write: “Thirst TRAP.” For his part, Hemsworth didn’t get defensive — he got educated. He responded to the comment with the note, “I just googled thirst trap. 100% true,” and a wink.

Now you know, Liam. And thank you for the picture.
