What’s Up With Hannah Brown Appearing on Peter Weber’s Season of The Bachelor? Here’s a Hint

The Bachelor always brings many, many questions. But so far, only one is puzzling fans about the next installment: Why is Hannah Brown appearing on Peter Weber’s season? Not only did Brown already appear on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, but she also fronted her own season of The Bachelorette — which is where she met Weber. So, what’s with the promos teasing her return? Here’s the latest intel.

It’s hard to believe that another season of the Bachelor franchise is just around the corner, and yet it is. “Pilot Pete” will officially begin his search for love on January 6 (well, the televised portion anyway). Did he already have a romantic prospect coming into the season, though? In a new press release from ABC, the network plays up Brown’s upcoming cameo. As for why she’s there, well, ABC certainly seems to be pointing toward a possible renewed love connection between Brown and Weber.

“In another huge surprise, Hannah B. hosts the next group date. She explains to the nine enthusiastic women that they will be revealing their most memorable sex stories and fantasies in front of a live audience. But what happens when Peter discovers a distraught Hannah backstage? What she shares with him will leave them both as confused as ever. Do the two of them still have feelings for one another and share the same sizzling passion? Will Hannah join the group of women in the Bachelor mansion and continue to date Peter?”

The new teaser trailer for the season also seems to corroborate this, showing Weber approach Brown to say, “I’m so confused right now. What are you doing here?” Her response: “Making decisions for my heart, because I know there’s still something there and I would do anything for our relationship.” And here comes the Bachelor bombshell — Weber appears to invite Brown back into the Bachelor Mansion. “Hannah Brown, what I’m about to say is extremely crazy,” he starts. “What would you say if I were to ask you to come be part of the house?”

Of course, Brown, Weber and anyone else involved with the production will undoubtedly remain coy about the real reason for Brown’s cameo (and whether it is, in fact, because she joined the current crop of romantic hopefuls). When asked after her DWTS win about her appearance on the new Bachelor, Brown told ET, “I don’t know [why I’m appearing on the season]. I’ve been dancing on Dancing With the Stars!”

And, admittedly, the fact that Brown was on DWTS makes us wonder if she could logistically even pull off being on Weber’s season. It seems more likely that ABC will pull something even more dramatic, like having Brown refuse Weber’s offer and then pop back up toward the end of the season.

TBH, given the pair’s history — need we bring up their, ahem, four windmill moments — we’re not convinced their chemistry has completely fizzled either.
