Kate Middleton Playing with Kids in an ‘Enchanted’ Christmas Forest is the Holiday Cheer We Need

We know that the Duchess of Cambridge is a doting mom, and we’re obsessed with photos of her with George, Charlotte, and Louis. But even sweeter? How warm and welcoming the Duchess is to any kids she encounters, as proven in these new photos of Kate Middleton doing Christmas activities with a children’s charity.

Kate has just been announced as the new royal patron of charity Family Action, a role she’s taking over from the Queen herself. Family Action, per their website, “transforms lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation across the country.”

Kensington Palace released the following statement on Kate’s appointment to royal patron: “The Duchess of Cambridge has spent much of the last eight years meeting charities and organizations who work every day to make our families and communities stronger. There is a powerful correlation between a parent or carer’s wellbeing and their child’s development, which is why organizations such as Family Action that provide support are instrumental to a child’s future. This new patronage aligns with Her Royal Highness’ longstanding work on the early years, and the importance of supporting children and families during this seminal period of their lives.”

New royal patron Kate made an unannounced stop in Buckinghamshire on Wednesday, dropping by Peterley Manor Farm’s ‘Elves Enchanted Forest’ to spend the day with the families involved in Family Action — and that’s where these adorable photos come into play. Here’s a series of Kate (dressed brilliantly on theme in red and green, you’ll note) helping kids pick out Christmas trees, make holiday decorations, and otherwise marvel at all this enchanted forest has to offer.
