Getting real and raw. Celebrities are no strangers to criticism on the internet, and Justin Bieber’s wife is no exception. Hailey Baldwin (aka the newly married Hailey Bieber) took to Instagram to share a lengthy, emotional post about cyberbullying on social media, and how it’s negatively impacted her life.
“I would say my most favorite part of existing is human connection. I absolutely love connecting with other people, I love finding common interests between me and others, hearing people’s story, I love laughing with others, and I love crying with others. I feel so very very deeply,” she began, explaining that she empathizes for those around her and is easily hurt when she’s misunderstood by others.
“The reason I’m even sharing this,” she continued, “is because Instagram, Twitter, etc is SUCH a breeding ground for cruelty towards each other, and because people don’t take the time to connect with each other on an honest level before they resort to hatred, it starts to damage what could be really beautiful human interaction and connection.”
She makes a valid point. It’s a little too easy these days to send a snarky comment on social media as opposed to taking the time to understand where another person may be coming from.

The 23-year-old model went on to explain that although the negativity she experiences online is extremely difficult to deal with, she hopes by sharing her pain publicly, she could help those who are experiencing the same feelings.
“It hurts to be compared to other human beings every single day, it hurts for people to jump to conclusions and make assumptions. It hurts to be called names, and to feel like you don’t measure up to a certain standard.. the list goes on and on,” she shared.
Adding that this topic “weighs often on my heart,” she concluded her post with her wish for 2020: “Let’s connect more.”
