At just shy of two months old, Prince Louis is still figuring out what he likes and doesn’t like. But the royal tot already has at least one musical leaning — mom Kate Middleton just revealed one of Louis’ favorite songs. And while it’s a little surprising in the sense that it isn’t exactly a song one goes around singing every day, it makes perfect sense that it would be the littlest Cambridge kid‘s jam.
On Monday evening, Kate hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace honoring the 25th anniversary of one of her patronages, Place2Be. Two school choirs performed during the special event, so music was naturally a topic of discussion. And per People, the Duchess joked that she should be the one serenading the choir kids (not the other way around) after discovering two of the children were celebrating their birthdays.
To that end, the royal mom-of-three hinted that she gets a lot of practice singing the “Happy Birthday” jingle at home — it’s apparently “one of Louis’ favorite songs.” While he was “tucked in bed” for the night and couldn’t enjoy the musical stylings of the choirs or his mother, little Louis undoubtedly associates that particular tune with happy times. And, sure, maybe also presents. Come to think of it, “Happy Birthday” might be our favorite song, too.

Fortunately for Louis, he’ll get to hear it very soon, as he turns two on April 23. As the little boy continues to grow, Kate and husband Prince Will have taken to sharing more tidbits about their youngest child’s budding personality.
Back in September, Kate revealed to visitors at her “Back to Nature” garden that Louis ‘loves smelling flowers” and “enjoys being outside.” In December, she admitted that one of her son’s first words was “Mary” — inspired by her habitually watching Mary Berry on The Great British Bake Off.
Between these facts and Louis’ favorite song, we’re calling it now: This Cambridge kid is going to be the life of the party like his Uncle Harry always was.
