With Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s coronavirus diagnosis, it’s official: COVID-19 is all anyone can talk about or think about. Kim Kardashian West and her sisters are joining the coronavirus panic conversation with a page from psychic Sylvia Browne’s 2008 book, and her prediction has more than a few people doing a double take. The illness that Browne describes sweeping the globe in 2020 sounds an awful lot like, well, coronavirus.
Kardashian West took to Twitter with her discovery on Wednesday night, writing, “Kourtney just sent this on our group chat” alongside a photo of the Browne page from a Facebook post.
The page reads: “In around 2020, a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments. Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely.”

So far, that sounds way too close to our current situation (even closer than Contagion). And it’s not the only prediction floating around conspiracy-Twitter. Others have pointed to a Dean Koontz novel from 1981 in which he describes new biological weapon “Wuhan-400,” named “because it was developed at their RDNA labs outside of the city of Wuhan.” (Coronavirus was first reported in the city of Wuhan.)

Before you freak out completely, please remember that Sylvia Browne isn’t exactly known for her 100% accuracy, and Dean Koontz is a novelist. Are these still crazy coincidences? Sure. But don’t worry — the Kardashians are on the case.
