If you need a little pick-me-up this morning, look no further than Chrissy Teigen and John Legend‘s latest Instagram collaboration. After being tagged by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to participate in a #TogetherAtHome concert series, Legend lived up to his word by delivering a nearly one-hour-long jam session via social media on Tuesday night. Making it even better? Teigen’s occasional commentary, contributions and, naturally, facial expressions.
Sitting down to his piano, Legend noted that he was robed and ready to perform. “But I do have underwear on, in case you’re curious,” he joked before diving right into a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s classic and oh-so-apropos “Love’s in Need of Love Today.” After playing the song, Legend shared a pretty entertaining backstory about how he played that song back in the late ’80s while auditioning for Lauryn Hill when he was “a nobody” — as he recounted the moment, Teigen shouted out playfully, “Still a nobody!” Hey, somebody’s gotta keep him grounded, right?
In all seriousness, though, it’s nice to see celebrities teaming up to try to bring a bit of peace and joy into fans’ lives amid the chaos of the coronavirus. As more states begin to implement “shelter in place” and mandatory quarantine precautions, everyone is hunkering down at home — and listening to the likes of Legend, Martin and more is a nice distraction.

And when it comes to Legend’s virtual concert, we all enjoyed the added bonus of Teigen’s comic relief. It didn’t stop once the concert ended, either. Afterward, she took to Twitter to reveal she was “so drunk from the streams” that she couldn’t see. So, instead of keeping her planned post-concert live-therapy Skype session, she decided to “take a nappy.”
Could we love this couple more? Doubtful.
