Mother Monster wants little monsters to call her own! In a new interview with InStyle for the magazine’s May cover, Lady Gaga got candid in a way she rarely (if ever?) does — the global superstar revealed that her life goals include marriage and kids, sooner rather than later when it comes to motherhood. And if the way she interacts with her younger fans is any indication, “mom” is another role Gaga was born to play.
Granted, Gaga often gets deeply personal with fans and the media about her life experiences, even those that are traumatic or painful. But it’s a departure for Gaga to open up about her romantic life and especially about having children, as she typically keeps that part of her world close to the vest. Yet, when asked what she wants out of life, the multi-hyphenate entertainer didn’t hesitate. “Marriage,” she told InStyle, going on to add, “I will say I am very excited to have kids. I look forward to being a mom. Isn’t it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it’s our job to keep it alive.”
And, hey, Gaga is apparently already giving off all kinds of maternal vibes. “It’s so funny,” she explained, “Everyone works out of my house every day. When they come in, I always say, ‘Welcome to the Womb!'”

Of course, Gaga is nothing if not ambitious. While marriage (she is getting serious with tech entrepreneur Michael Polansky) and motherhood are at the top of her future to-do list, they’re joined by a wide variety of other aspirations.
“More music, more movies, more charity with the Born This Way foundation,” she added to her life goals. “I want to do way more philanthropy. I want to help fund more research about fibromyalgia and neuropathic and chronic pain by putting a team of doctors together. I have a lot of dreams and hopes. What I will actually accomplish, I have no idea, but I know that I will be doing it with the people I love.”
For now, though, Gaga is busy mothering… well, the world. The superstar — whose sixth studio album, Chromatica, drops on April 10 — recently raised $35 million with advocacy organization Global Citizen to aid coronavirus efforts.
