Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade Share Heartfelt Messages On Daughter Zaya’s 13th Birthday

As any parent knows, on birthdays, you want to make your child feel like the most special kid in the world. And we’re guessing that Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade — who continue to prove that they’re #parentgoals in pretty much every way — did just that when they showered daughter Zaya with loving messages on Instagram on her 13th birthday.

Union shared a photo of her smiling standing next to Zaya, captioning the post, “Happy Birthday baby!!! I can’t believe you are 13!! @zayawadeyou are such an inspiration and motivation to get my butt up everyday and fight. When I’m weary, frustrated, full of rage, I see your face and your joy and you living your best life and I want that for all of us. I love you sooooo much kid!! Enjoy this day and everyday knowing you are loved, protected, respected, admired and celebrated. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Wade posted a slideshow of photos to the social media platform, addressing to his daughter the importance of remaining strong and authentic, especially in light of the current political climate. He wrote: “I hope you feel all of my love today and every day of your life. You’re Bold, You’re courageous, You are Zaya. Happy Birthday we LOVE you‼️

Their birthday wishes further prove the couple’s role model parenting skills. Recently, in a Variety cover story, Union expressed how she and her husband are finding ways to support and create a community for their child, who came out as transgender last year. When speaking with the publication, she said: “We’re just loving our kids and accepting our kids, which is not revolutionary. To some people it’s nuts.”

Wade and his wife appear to have created a united front since their first conversations with the press on the topic. When speaking with Ellen DeGeneres on the subject, he said “We’re just trying to figure out as much information as we can to make sure that we give our child the best opportunity to be her best self.”
