Video of 7-Year-Old Protestor Wynta-Amor Rogers Goes Viral — for Good Reason

Wynta-Amor Rogers chanting “No Justice, No Peace” at a racial justice rally in Merrick, New York went viral after journalist Scott Brinton, shared the moment on Instagram June 3rd.

The girl’s mother, Lakyia Jackson, reposted the video, sharing her support and encouragement for her daughter. Jackson’s caption read: Wynta-Amor Mommy will Help make your Future better and all the rest of the kids in the world.”

The following day, the proud mother shared her gratitude for the communal praise resulting from her daughter’s activism. She said: “Thank you for all of the support [Red heart] we appreciate it so much. Wynta-Amor wanted to be heard and she has been✊🏽 we must show the kids of the world the right way and I will start with mine✊🏽 #BlackLivesMatter #AllLivesMattter #changetheworld

Across social media platforms, the message was very well received with the NAACP (National Association for The Advancement of Colored People) reposting the video on its Instagram page with the caption: “#Mood! #WeAreDoneDying.”

Public figures, including Senator Kamala Harris, also were quick to show support for this young activist. In a Tweet, she said: “Wynta-Amor gives me hope. Thank you both for everything that you’re doing. We’re in this fight together.”

As this impactful moment continues to shape the movement, we are almost certain that this is not the last call to action we will hear from this budding social justice advocate.
