Kelly Clarkson Files for Divorce from Brandon Blackstock After Nearly Seven Years of Marriage

Kelly Clarkson has filed for divorce from husband Brandon Blackstock after nearly seven years of marriage, shocking fans who had no idea there was anything amiss in their relationship. While Clarkson was gushing over Blackstock and their marriage in recent weeks, it seems there was trouble brewing beneath the surface that she was determined to keep out of the public eye. But now that her filing is official, court documents have been obtained detailing Clarkson’s desire to end their marriage.

According to the documents obtained by The BlastClarkson filed for divorce on June 4. She, Blackstock, and their young kids, 4-year-old son Remy and 5-year-old daughter River Rose, have been quarantining together in Montana since the covid-19 lockdowns, and scenes from Clarkson’s home life hadn’t indicated the unrest she clearly felt.

Clarkson and Blackstock first met in 2011, dating for under two years before getting engaged in December 2012. Their engagement was brief too, with the couple tying the knot in 2013. A few months later, they welcomed River Rose to the world, and her brother Remy shortly thereafter, in 2016.

As recently as December, Clarkson had been talking up the couple’s romantic life on her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, leaving fans even more bewildered about what could have led to this split. As devoted parents and (apparently) passionate lovers, it’s sad to watch this chapter end —- but of course, we trust that Clarkson knows what’s best for her and her family. We wish them luck on this difficult next chapter.
