Helena Christensen is seemingly embarking on an especially sexy — yet secret (for now) — project, and the timeless beauty has blessed our newsfeeds with a behind-the-scenes sneak peek from a new photo shoot for London-based luxury lingerie brand Coco de Mer, featuring a cameo from the equally stunning Brooke Shields.
Christensen posted two gorgeous snapshots to Instagram, in which she models lingerie with good friends Camilla Staerk and Shields on the bed behind her. “Very excited to soon be able to share a project I’ve been working on (and had my girls photo bombing at),” she captioned the images, tagging Coco de Mer.
Assuming “6.16.21” is a reference to the date and the Coco de Mer tag is related, it seems we have an iconic lingerie collaboration on the horizon! We can’t wait — because we not only love what we’ve seem so far via Instagram, but the fact that Christensen is proudly showing off her beautiful body, and working on a lingerie-adjacent project, at 52-years-old. This shouldn’t be impressive or out of the ordinary, but unfortunately, women in the limelight are often cast aside the second they start to “age,” and it’s truly refreshing to see women confident in their adult bodies, and owning sensuality at every age.
Earlier this year, Christensen modeled alongside her 21-year-old son Mingus, who is following in her footsteps and pursuing modeling, as well. And considering Brooke Shields has said her teenage daughters are responsible for helping her feel more confident in her body at her age, we can’t help but wonder if Christensen was inspired by her son, as well.
“I was wearing those big bathing suits that had as much fabric as possible. My daughters were like, ‘Mom, it’s ridiculous,'” Shields told People last year. “It was sort of seeing myself through their eyes and just celebrating things like my butt…Being 55 and saying ‘Wait a minute, women over 50 are not done.’”
