Brooke Shields Daughter Wore Her Mom’s Vintage Golden Globes Gown to Prom

Growing up, there was nothing I loved more than raiding my mom’s closet (and honestly, very much still do). Apparently, Brooke Shields’ daughter feels the same, though her mom’s hand-me-downs aren’t exactly the average mom-closet vintage finds — as proven by her preference for prom dress.

Shields revealed the origins of daughter Rowan Francis’ gorgeous gown in an Instagram post, which featured an adorable photo of the mommy-daughter duo at pre-prom. In the caption, Shields gushes that her daughter’s dresses was especially . . . sustainable, to say the least. In fact, it might even seem familiar as it was most recently spotted on the star-studded red carpet in the late 1990s. Yes, you read that right! The high school senior got to rock Brooke Shields’ very own iconic gown from the Golden Globes to her senior prom.

“I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998, but nothing could have prepared me to see my daughter wearing it to her prom,” the 58-year-old actress wrote alongside the photo. “Proud mama!”

Understandably, Shields’ friends and followers freaked (my own mother had actually ‘liked’ the post) over the fashionable — and sentimental — moment. “Congratulations to your beautiful funny smart girl ❤️👏❤️,” model Helena Christensen, fellow hot mama, wrote in response. “Rowan, you look gorgeous and congrats,” Cristina Cuomo, yet another cool mom, added to the bunch.

I think it’s safe to say that Rowan Francis was the the coolest prom-goer that night — or possibly ever.
