In case you were on the fence about getting into a book club, this may push you to finally join. On Tuesday, Reese Witherspoon announced in a truly adorable Instagram video that her book club is partnering with Google. Witherspoon showed fans that you can just say a simple phrase to get up-to-date with everything in the book club, plus more info on what she’s reading and why she loves it than ever before.
With the announcement, Witherspoon captioned the post, “We’ve joined forces with @Google to make it even easier to dive into our book picks and connect with our book-lover-in-chief @ReeseWitherspoon. To get started, simply say, ‘#HeyGoogle, read with Reese’s Book Club’ to your home speaker, display, or phone. Reese will share exclusive content including what she loves, plot details, and author intel. Looking for a book recommendation? Take the Recommender Quiz and Google Assistant will match you with a bundle of our picks to add to your TBR.”
The post ended with, “Hey Google, we’re obsessed!” and we couldn’t agree more.
The collaboration offers people in Reese’s Book Club a fully immersive experience on Google Assistant-enabled mobile devices. Users will be able to read Reese Witherspoon’s monthly book picks, take a quiz for personalized book recommendations, and get exclusive commentary from Witherspoon.
Don’t have a Google device? Make sure to add one to your cart now so you can take advantage of this new feature and all the other ways Google will make your life so much easier.
The comments are flooded with excited fans weighing in, writing: “Hey Google, count me in” and “Hey Google, sign me up!”
Reese’s book club is well known for its stellar, outside-of-the-box novels that tackle bigger issues. The late Summer Young Adult pick for the Club was The Downstairs Girl by Stacey Lee, which follows the story of a young girl in the Gilded Age using her writing talents to cause an uproar. She brought another novel that fans are buzzing about for the September pick. L.A. Weather by Maria Escandon, which takes readers to Los Angeles where a small, Hispanic family has to tackle whatever the weather gives them.
With these picks and many more on the horizon, it’s no wonder fans of the book club are freaking out.
