It looks like Tiger is out of the woods — for now.
Tiger Woods‘ ex-girlfriend Erica Herman has dropped her $30 million lawsuit that accused the professional golfer of violating the Landlord Tenant Act. Herman alleged that Woods tricked her into leaving his massive $54 million Jupiter Island mansion shortly after they broke up in 2022, despite Herman’s claim that the two had an oral agreement about how long she could stay there.
“The Plaintiff, Erica Herman, by and through her undersigned counsel, hereby dismisses without prejudice her Complaint, filed on October 26, 2022, pending resolution of the appeal in Herman v. Woods and determination of whether her claims are subject to arbitration,” the filing said, according to the New York Post.
The two first met when Herman was an employee at Woods’ restaurant, The Woods Jupiter, back in 2017. Woods and Herman have different takes as to when their romantic relationship officially started, as the two reportedly started dating when she was still an employee. At the time, Herman was required to sign an NDA about their romantic life.
Even though Herman has dropped her case against Woods’ estate, she is still fighting to be removed from the NDA. Back in March, Herman told a judge that she was forced to sign the agreement and that she believes the NDA is “invalid and unenforceable,” per ESPN. While Herman didn’t outline any particular incidents, her attorney, Benjamin Hodas, indicated that the case involved allegations of sexual abuse. According to the Post, Herman is arguing that Woods’ aggressive pursuit of a romantic relationship with her while he was her boss constitutes sexual harassment, which should be enough in itself to have the NDA revoked.
While Woods has not commented on his ex’s latest legal move, he did previously call her a “jilted ex-girlfriend.” Even though one of the cases was dropped, it seems like things are only going to get more complex as the debate about the NDA continues in court.
