Michelle Pfeiffer Celebrates a Milestone With a Stunning Makeup-Free Look

Social media can be a wonderful tool, or it can be a social anxiety-inducing time suck, depending on who you ask. For Michelle Pfeiffer, the idea of being on social media was once terrifying, but as her latest post goes to show, it can be a fun time, too.

The 64-year-old took to her Instagram on Thursday to celebrate a social media milestone with a makeup free selfie.

“3M followers. Thank you all for hanging out with me here!! 🤍” the actress captioned a bare-faced selfie from the couch. The Dangerous Liasons actress looks completely at ease, and we are here for it. Her friends and followers couldn’t be more excited that she decided to make the leap to social media back in 2019, as evidenced by the comments section full of admiration.

“I remember when you first showed up here …and it was like finding ruby slippers! You are solid gold. 💛” Selma Blair commented on the stunning selfie. “You are SO beautiful. Always so jazzed that I once played your mother!,” added actress Holland Taylor. “Icon Queen ❤️‍🔥” commented Christina Ricci.

Pfeiffer first joined Instagram in January 2019, although it wasn’t something she was exactly thrilled about.

“I’ve spent my entire life avoiding, doing as little as possible, in terms of exposure — literally the least that I could get away with as an actress,” Pfeiffer told InStyle. She said that sharing even a small part of her life was “terrifying for [her]” and it took a lot (see: her Maleficent 2 costar Elle Fanning) to convince her to make the jump to the smallest of screens.

“I’ve started paying more attention. And I’ve been following other celebrities who I think are as private as I am, and even they are venturing into the Instagram world. So I’m dipping my toe in. I’ll be very tentative in the beginning. But in a weird way, I’m kind of excited about it.”

It’s exciting to see Pfeiffer embracing social media in a way that makes her feel comfortable and able to connect with fans and friends alike. We’re glad you’re still online, Michelle!
