We’ve seen plenty celebrity doppelgängers in our time. Seriously, a slew of celebs have been confused for other industry pros for years — it’s really not that uncommon. But we didn’t expect to do a total double take when we stumbled upon Gwyneth Paltrow‘s sweet birthday shout-out to one of her longtime famous friends.
Just a few short days ago, the Goop founder took to Instagram to wish pal Cameron Diaz a very happy birthday. In the post, which you can check out below, Paltrow captured a stunning selfie of the twosome with a gorgeous vista behind them. “Happy Birthday to you [Cameron Diaz] my ride or die,” she captioned the snapshot, adding a blue heart emoji.
If we’re being totally honest, we had to pause for a moment to determine who was Paltrow and who was Diaz in this pic. The two, who snuggled up close together for the photo, looked so strikingly similar that even left some fans and followers who commented on the photo seeing double. “I swear you’re twins,” “Wow y’all look alike,” “twinning,” and “Y’all look like sisters,” were just a few of the comments the duo received on their twinning pic.
For the longest time, the only other person we thought was Paltrow’s lookalike was her daughter, Apple Martin. But this new photo definitely has us thinking Paltrow and Diaz are basically lookalikes, too. As Diaz gets ready to return to the screen, maybe a sister comedy co-starring Paltrow could be on the table? We’d love to see it!
