Patrick Dempsey‘s red-carpet appearance at the Venice Film Festival on Thursday proved he’s always been “McDreamy.” He was there to support his latest film, Ferrari, which received a waiver from SAG-AFTRA since it was produced by a non-struck company, and he did not disappoint by leaning into his handsome silver-fox era.
He and wife Jillian Dempsey showed up looking like they just stepped out of a fashion magazine editorial. He wore a crisp classic tux with a pop of color coming from the red band on his watch. She wore a creamy white gown accented with a tailored black jacket that she draped on her shoulders. However, it was Dempsey’s silver hair that stole the show. He’s letting his natural gray shine through, and we think it looks rather dapper on him.
This isn’t the only time he’s experimented with his hair color as he dyed it white-blonde to play the role of Italian race-car driver, Piero Taruffi, in the film. “I love it, it’s great. It’s fun to do something different. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I’m known for my hair. So, this has really jacked up a lot of people, they don’t know how to embrace it. Either they love it, or they hate it,” he toldVariety at D23 last year. “I like it. Dye your hair, have fun. Blonds have more fun, I have to tell you, it’s true.”
He rocked a buzz cut after he completed the filming in 2022 to get rid of the last bits of icy blonde, which his wife shared on Instagram. “Change is good! Have you ever buzzed your hair? Watch @patrickdempsey use clippers to eliminate the dyed hair from a character role and start fresh,” she wrote. That fresh start is where Dempsey’s silver fox chapter began, and it works very well for him.
