Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were spotted looking like two lovebirds at Los Angeles’ famous Melrose Trading Post flea market. It might seem like a causal Sunday with the kids, but the Hollywood hotspot is teeming with paparazzi because it’s a favorite celebrity weekend adventure. Affleck isn’t a fan of the press, so why would he agree to go there?
The loving photos of the couple, wrapped arm-in-arm and attached at the hip, are sweet, but they also come at a very curious time. Affleck was seen with Jennifer Garner two days before, in what Page Six described as an “intimate moment” inside the car along with their daughter, Seraphina, 14. Garner leaned forward from the back seat toward her ex-husband in the front seat as he tilted his head in her direction. It was nothing more than an adorable co-parenting situation, but some people insinuated that it was something more.
“Oh Jennifer Lopez isn’t gonna like this one,” wrote one X (formerly Twitter) account. “Somebody check on Jennifer! She’s going to HATE THISSSSSS,” added another user. Even though fans of J.Lo and Affleck know they are solid, the images might have inspired the couple to go to a paparazzi-heavy location to let everyone know that there’s nothing to see here. It’s a tactic they’ve employed before to get the word out that they are more in love today than they were 20 years ago.
The love triangle narrative has to be exhausting for all three of them. Garner is in a happy relationship withJohn Miller, and the Bennifer 2.0 saga played out very publicly over the last few years. There’s nothing better for the kids than their parents getting along swimmingly, but Lopez and Affleck possibly wanted to squash those Garner reunion rumors as quickly as possible — before they took on a life of their own.
