Joe Manganiello’s New Gig That Was Previously Held by Ex-Wife Sofia Vergara’s Buddy Is Already Receiving Backlash

Joe Manganiello’s new gig is receiving quite a bit of backlash, for more reasons than you may think.

In case you missed it, Deal or No Deal will be returning, but not with Howie Mendel as the host. Instead, the staple reality show is getting a makeover: not only will it take place on an island, but Manganiello will be the new host going forward.

The new Instagram account for the show uploaded a video on Sept 28, saying: “Huge announcement! Coming back bigger and more exciting than ever. Hosted by @JoeManganiello and Executive Produced by @HowieMandel, #DealorNoDealIsland is coming 2024 to @NBC.”

After this announcement happened, the internet instantly became split. While many were excited at the prospect of the show coming back, commenting things like: “This sounds great. Can’t wait,” and “What a beautiful endorsement and passing of the torch! Go howie! Go joe! Nice!🙌❤️”; just as many weren’t too happy.

In fact, many were upset that Mendel wouldn’t be returning as host. Many said things like: “I won’t even watch Deal or No Deal if Howie isn’t the host. 🙌” and “Howie is Deal or No Deal sorry joe ain’t going to cut it.”

Along with that, many wondered how this new duo will work, considering Mendel currently works with, and is buddies with, his ex-wife Sofia Vergara. Fans even noted how the timing of it all seemed off, saying things like “The timing seems strange!”

Mendel and Vergara have co-hosted America’s Got Talent for years now, and despite the outrage some had with his jokes about the Modern Family alum’s single life, it’s well-known that they have a close bond.

And mere months after Vergara and Manganiello called it quits after seven years of marriage, he’s working with one of her A-list buddies. Safe to say, everyone is confused right now.
