Brad Pitt Reportedly Believes He Has the Smoking Gun Email in Angelina Jolie Lawsuit Over Château Miraval

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still warring over their French winery, Château Miraval, even though the 49-year-old star has long since sold her interest in the property. Pitt is reportedly still angry over that a Russian billionaire, Yuri Shefler, is now co-owner with him, but he’s hoping a smoking-gun email will turn the $250 million lawsuit in his favor

The former couple, who each had a 50% interest in the business, don’t see eye-to-eye on how the sale of Jolie’s share happened. Pitt claimed he was supposed to receive first right of refusal to buy her out, but the deal reportedly fell about after their contentious child custody fight. Pitt accused her of backing out of their agreement to have him pay her $54.4 million over six years, minus the repayment of a $7 million loan that Pitt provided to Jolie. When things got too heated in their child custody case, she reportedly changed her mind and sold it to Shefler. However, Pitt thinks they were in cahoots the whole time to excise him from the sale.

Now, new evidence seems to indicate that Jolie and Shefler might have left Pitt out of negotiations so they could make the deal happen without interference. Then, they allegedly hid the evidence in what Pitt considers a “hostile takeover,” according to court documents obtained by RadarOnline. After Pitt’s lawyers demanded that the Russian businessman turn over additional documents, they found an email that they consider to be damning confirmation that Jolie and Shefler were in on the plot.

“Dear Angelina, With this letter I would like to thank you for the deal we have done,” Shefler wrote in the email sent by a third party. “I am happy with the deal despite the current disagreements with Mr. Pitt in regards to his attempts to sabotage and avoid signing shareholders’ agreements. I am, however, hopeful that we will eventually become trustworthy partners and will be enjoying mutual business. Should you at any point of time require any assistance from me, please do reach out at [redacted phone number].”

Pitt and his legal team are hoping to get the sale of Château Miraval voided, so the 59-year-old actor can be the sole owner. The court hasn’t ruled on the latest twist and turn in the Jolie-Pitt battle, but it’s clear neither of them are backing down.
