Over the summer there were two major stadium tours going on — Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. The fans often got into heated arguments on the internet over who was giving a better show or who was making more money, but the two superstars are here to end the perceived feud once and for all.

On Wednesday, Beyoncé made the ultimate women-supporting-women move by showing up at Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film premiere in Los Angeles. The unexpected appearance made the “Shake It Off” singer’s night. She posted an Instagram Reel with Beyoncé in the movie theater, sharing a bucket of popcorn. Swift sweetly honored her friend in the caption, “I’m so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce‘s influence. The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale.”

Besides being a powerful photo opportunity, the two women are changing the way the movie industry does business — they both have a lot at stake for their concert films. After the major studios dropped the ball during negotiations for distribution, Swift’s father, Scott Kingsley Swift, brokered a deal with AMC Theatres to get the film in 8,500 cinemas in 100 countries. They cut out the middleman an unprecedented move, so both pop legends will earn an absolute fortune. Beyoncé is set to do the same thing on Dec. 1 when Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé debuts.

This display of solidarity also seems to have brokered peace between their fans. One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “Music ROYALTY right here!” Another added, “Ngl this is very wholesome for the pop culture space.” And one Swiftie noted, “when two mothers come together to maximize their joint slay.” Maybe the artists will record a song together in the future, but for now, they have taken on the entertainment industry and proven that their fanbase is saving Hollywood.
