It looks like a major chapter in the Jonas Brother era is officially over. With Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas reportedly working out the details of their divorce via a mediator, the Game of Thrones star is also ending her Jonas wives’ sisterhood. She decided to unfollow Nick Jonas’ wife, Priyanka Chopra — and the feeling is mutual. Chopra isn’t following her either.
The move feels quite personal because Turner continues to follow Nick, Kevin, and Danielle Jonas — and yes, even her ex-husband. It seems that Chopra felt quite “caught in the middle of this mess” because she and Turner “were very close,” according to a Life & Style source. Chopra stood in their wedding party as a bridesmaid and flower girl during their spontaneous 2019 Las Vegas wedding. And the women even shared similar dreams about living in the U.K. with their husbands by their sides. “There was once a time Sophie thought she and Joe would move to London and so would Nick and Priyanka,” the source added.
A divorce often leads to people taking sides, especially with heightened emotions during a difficult time. It’s not surprising that Chopra felt torn between her husband’s family and her friendship to Turner, in addition to being a doting aunt to her nieces, Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1. “Priyanka loves Sophie and her nieces and doesn’t want to do anything to jeopardize them being in her life,” the insider noted. It’s obvious that any rift is a painful one right now — Chopra and Turner’s friendship is undergoing a significant change.
With Joe and Turner working hard to sort out their differences outside of court for the divorce, there could be a possible softening of emotions in the future. It might be too challenging for the women to navigate their relationship right now, but it’s their children who might bring them back together. It gives hope for the future that Turner and Chopra will eventually revisit their friendship.
