While we all anxiously awaitBritney Spears‘ bombshell memoir to come out on Oct 24, more details about the tell-all memoir’s launch are being revealed. Most recently, reports confirmed that Spears, due to the nature of the many revelations in the book, wasn’t going to narrate the whole book herself. Instead, a surprising A-lister has decided to step in.
According to a statement to People, Fabelmans star Michelle Williams will be the book’s main narrator. “This book has been a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it,” Spears said in her statement to the outlet. “Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading a small part of my audiobook.”
In fact, according to the outlet, Spears will only be recording the introduction while Williams steps in for the rest. “I am so grateful to the amazing Michelle Williams for reading the rest of it,” the “Toxic” singer continued.
As for Williams, who will be narrating her first-ever audiobook, she kept her statement short and sweet: “I stand with Britney.”
Prior to the announcement, a source told TMZ that Spears and the book’s publishing company, Simon & Schuster, had a specific person in mind for the narration: Reese Witherspoon. Unfortunately, however, The Morning Show star “wasn’t available to do it” so they continued exploring other “female celebs.”
Regardless of who narrates Spears’ words, The Woman in Me promises to be an unforgettable book with bombshell revelations all around. “Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last,” the book’s description reads. We can’t wait to dive in!
