Martha Stewart is a fabulous 82-year-old superstar and she’s not about to listen to anyone who rambles on about fashion rules. She’s always been a rule breaker and she thinks you should too, especially when it comes to societal expectations on women as they grow older.

The advice is coming from the woman who has mastered the thirst-trap snapshot better than any Gen Z-er on social media, so listen up! Stewart is not about to listen to any nonsense about “dressing for one’s age.” She had serious opinions when asked about the hot topic by Page Six. “Dressing for whose age? I don’t think about age,” she said confidently. “I think people are more and more and more [fabulous] than they’re ever been in their senior years, and I applaud every one of them.”

Stewart believes her fashion sense was established decades ago when she was in her teens. “I’ve dressed the same since I was 17,” she noted. “If you look at my pictures on my Instagram, I look pretty much the same.” And she’s not wrong, from her casual denim looks to her recent thigh-high slit ensemble, the lifestyle guru is sizzling-hot at any age! And Stewart isn’t the only Hollywood star who is emphasizing that “women should do whatever the hell they want to do” when it comes to style. Elizabeth Hurley agrees with Stewart’s sentiment.

“It’s completely absurd if people think they can’t put a bikini on and enjoy being on the beach because people might think their body looks too old,” Hurley told SheKnows. “I mean, that’s just obscene. It’s a terrible point of view.” With celebs like Hurley and Stewart leading the way, it’s proving that every season of life is one to celebrate in the outfits that make you feel spectacular.
