Now that Jada Pinkett Smith‘s memoirWorthy is officially out, the world will get to know the actress and TV host even better. And although the book talks about many aspects of her life, from her struggles with alopecia to her rock bottoms with her mental health, viewers will surely be interested in getting an inside look into her complicated and tumultuous relationship with Will Smith.
And though by now we all know the two have been secretly separated since 2016, fans were surprised recently to see here just how supportive the King Richard star has continued to be during her press tour. In her most recent outing, for example, in an appearance at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, Will took the stage and made an emotional speech about his “best friend.”
“I just really wanted to come out and just be here and hold it down for you the way you have held it down for me,” the Oscar winner began his speech, reported the Baltimore Sun.
As for their relationship, Will showed appreciation for both their highs and lows together. “We have had a very, very long and tumultuous [relationship],” the actor told the room. “We call it ‘brutiful.’ It was brutal and beautiful at the same time.”
According to the Baltimore Banner and Page Six, Will then called their press tour reunion as a “sloppy public experiment in unconditional love.”
Will’s speech then continued with him showing appreciation for Jada’s many sacrifices through the years. “As I stand here before you today, I am happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life. I have achieved every single thing I have ever wanted in my entire life. There is not one thing left that I desire in this world — all of the awards, all of the money, the family — everything I’ve ever dreamed,” he shared. And, according to him, it was only possible because his accomplishments were “largely built on the foundation of Jada’s sacrifices.” We’re sure so many moms out there need to hear the same thing.
“Can you show up and love somebody for the rest of your life, even when you don’t agree with them?” Will said. “Jada is the best friend I have ever had on this planet and I am going to show up for her and support her for the rest of my life.” Looks like there truly is no bad blood between these two. Being each other’s best friends and supporters takes priority!
