Once again, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have split fans again with their sex jokes, and this one may be one of the strangest.

On Oct 20, on one of the recent episodes of Live with Kelly and Mark, the Live Wire author and Consuelos shared some explicit details about their sex life, and compared it to frogs. Ripa discovered on air that female frogs can “fake their own deaths to avoid unwanted attention” from males, and she quickly compared it to her and Consuelos.

“Let me just say they learned that from us,” she said, referring to her and her husband’s sex life.

Consuelos joked he has a mirror to hold up in front of Ripa. So when she’s “faking her own death, I put it over her face to see if she’s breathing. If it fogs up, it’s gonna be a nice Friday night!”

“That’s why I’ve learned to hold my breath for 7 to 18 minutes,” Ripa added. “He thinks I’m dead constantly.”

Now, we don’t mean to kink shame at all. If you’re happy, and everyone is consenting, then who are we to judge? However, these comments are not only proof that Ripa and Consuelos have literally no filter when it comes to their sex life, but it shows that the internet has some opinions on their “jokes.”

Dr. Ruth Westheimer retweeted the report from Page Six, saying, “Pretending to be asleep or having a headache is something that happens but it shouldn’t. Better to say why you’re not prepared to have sex at this moment and pick a better time so your partner has something to look forward to.”

However, some users enjoyed the ribbing, and thought the joke showed the couple’s playful energy, saying, “Some of you haven’t had a playful partner and it shows.”

Ripa and Consuelos met in 1995, and eloped a year later in 1996. Since then, they’ve welcomed three children named Michael Joseph, born in June 1997, Lola Grace, born in June 2001, and Joaquin Antonio, born in Feb 2003.
