Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez amicably settled their divorce, so it seems like she and her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater, are almost ready to make their official couple debut. Their not-so-shy weekend outing in New York City is probably a hint that a red-carpet sighting is in the works.
The dynamic duo was spotted by a TMZ source at the MO Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel — not only is it a celebrity hotspot, but it’s also a place to go when you want to be seen. Grande and Slater were at a corner table in a world of their own and the snapshots grabbed by a fan show just how “super flirty and touchy-feely” they are with each other. Calling it a “good old boozy time,” the insider noted that it was Grande who initiated a lot of their PDA, often cozying up to him to whisper in his ear and smother him in kisses.
Fans should now turn their attention to Thursday, Nov. 16 because that is the official Broadway opening of Slater’s show, Spamalot. He’s starring as Historian/Herbert in the Monty Python revival of the 2005 musical. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Grande not only in the audience cheering on her man but also stepping out on the red carpet for an official photo. It would be their way of declaring that their romance was more than an alleged affair — although reports already have the couple blissfuly living together in Manhattan.
Slater filed for divorce from wife of four years, Lilly Jay, in July. Jay blasted Grande after her husband’s fling was revealed to the public. “[Ariana’s] the story. Not a really girl’s girl,” she toldPage Six. “My family is just collateral damage.” The former couple is doing their best to co-parent their one-year-old son, but it might be challenging as Slater and Grande move closer and closer to the spotlight together.
