Travis Kelce Just Gave a Major Taylor Swift Timeline Clue That Might Prove How Long Their Romance Went Under the Radar

Taylor Swift‘s fans are so good at finding the Easter eggs in her music and videos, but Travis Kelce might have just dropped the biggest clue of them all about their dating timeline. The Kanas City Chiefs tight end let Swifties in on a secret — his mustache has a lot to do with the start of their romance. 

On Oct. 20, during his team’s press conference, the NFL star was asked for advice for all of the fans who are dressing as Kelce and Swift this Halloween. That’s when he dropped a bomb on everyone about his facial hair. “The mustache is slowly starting to disappear, but I’ll tell you what, man, that ’stache and the 87 jersey was pretty iconic there for a little bit,” he explained, “I had it when I met Taylor for the first time.” Mic drop. 

That little morsel of information should have everyone running back to his photos from this summer. Swifties know he attended her Eras Tour concert on July 8 at Arrowhead Stadium where he tried to shoot his shot, but failed. On his July 26th New Heights podcast Kelce talked about it publicly, so he still was not on Swift’s radar. His mustache made its debut at his team’s preseason training camp on Aug. 2, and pals Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson gave their ringing endorsement of Kelce to Swift on their Calm Down podcast on Aug. 3. Andrews pleaded, “Please try our friend Travis. He is fantastic!”

The sports reporter might have the bragging rights to this relationship because by Sept. 12, the couple was “quietly hanging out,” according to a Messenger source and the “Shake It Off” singer was his football game on Sept. 24. So, sometime between Aug. 4 and Sept. 11 was their first date — we have a feeling that Swifties will be able to nail this timeline down even more succinctly now that Kelce subtly spilled the tea they were all waiting for. It’s a match made in heaven!
