Their time in Washington, D.C. as senior advisers to the former president didn’t turn out to be the glamorous journey that they envisioned.
Their political turn reportedly tested their marriage as their former New York City social circle shunned them and Ivanka and Kushner looked to make a fresh start in Miami, Florida. A People source revealed how this life-changing shift altered the outlook on their union. “They’re a solid couple,” the insider explained. “They weathered a lot over the past eight years, the kind of stuff that would test anyone’s relationship, but they’ve somehow come out stronger.” They just celebrated their 14th anniversary and are relishing in their comfortable Miami lifestyle where they “feel pretty free.”
That doesn’t mean everything is perfect, though, because Donald Trump’s legal woes creep into their lives frequently. Even though, Ivanka was dismissed as a defendant in her father’s New York business fraud case, she will likely have to testify about her knowledge of the Trump Organization and its alleged property overvaluation. So, they still have to look over their shoulders since they aren’t completely out of hot water. “They know they still have to be careful with what they say and how they act, but they have no interest in a life where they are followed by cameras ever again,” the source added.
Ivanka and Kushner are trying to make their way back to high society, with a boost from pal, Kim Kardashian.
