The chasm between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family hasn’t shown any signs of closing. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if the tension between the parties involved has gotten worse over the years. As much as we know Prince Harry would like to reconcile with his father King Charles III and brother Prince William, it doesn’t look like that’ll happen anytime soon. But while his relationship with the royals has grown more fraught, Harry’s gotten closer to another member of his family.
The Duke of Sussex has developed a very strong relationship with his mother-in-law Doria Ragland. The twosome’s bond has gone from “strength to strength,” according to a report from The Mirror. “Despite the tense times, Harry is said to enjoy a close relationship with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland,” the report reads.
Harry and Doria have even enjoyed celebrating the last few summers together and commemorating special anniversaries and occasions, per Hello! Magazine. Doria has always been quite private, but over the course of the last several months, we’ve seen a lot more of her. She made a significant appearance in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docu-series, which dropped in December 2022. And earlier this past summer, she attended an event with Harry and Meghan.
We really love getting this little insight into Harry’s relationship with his mother-in-law, especially given the fractured state of his relationship with members of the House of Windsor. Harry and Meghan have made it abundantly clear their focus is on their young family, including four-year-old son Archie and two-year-old daughter Lilibet. Doria’s clearly a huge part of Meghan and Harry’s life in California, and we cannot wait to see how their bond continues to grow.
