The headlines about Ariana Grande have not stopped since her romance (or affair?) with Ethan Slater was revealed. Fans can’t seem to agree on their dating timeline and maybe that’s why the “Thank U, Next” singer has put her friends on notice for now.
The 31-year-old performer has reportedly put some serious restrictions on her BFFs — she doesn’t want anyone talking to the media about her personal life. “Ariana has asked all her friends not to talk about it — at least not until both of them are officially divorced,” an insider shared with The National Enquirer, via RadarOnline. Grande has amicably settled her divorce with Dalton Gomez, but Slater is still dealing with more delicate details, including custody of his one-year-old son, with ex-wife Lilly Jay.
The ongoing drama has put the Wicked cast, where the couple’s romance began, in a very awkward position, particularly Cynthia Erivo, who is playing Elphaba to Grande’s Glinda. “It’s an uncomfortable situation for Cynthia,” the source noted. “She was a witness when Ariana and Ethan fell in love. She knows everything but she’s keeping it under wraps.” While Grande and Slater insist they didn’t hook up until they broke up with their respective partners, another insider claimed that the duo was “sloppy” about their love affair.
Grande and Slater are making small moves toward the spotlight, though. They were recently spotted engaging in quite a bit of PDA at a New York City hotel, known for celebrity sightings. It also wouldn’t be surprising to see them make their red-carpet debut at Slater’s Broadway opening for Spamalot on Nov. 16. They can’t keep hiding for long, and at some point, sources are going to start talking again.
