Melania Trump is nowhere to be seen on Donald Trump‘s 2024 campaign trail, but that doesn’t stop him from talking about her. The former president shared some surprising criticism from his wife about his performance out on the road — and there’s a long list of items he needs to improve on!

On Sunday, Donald Trump told his Sioux City, Iowa rally audience that the former first lady would like him to calm the heck down. In the middle of his speech, while doing his interpretation of a transgender athlete (something he shouldn’t ever be doing), he broke the fourth wall and told the audience, “Our first lady hates it.” We have to agree with Melania on that one, but Donald Trump wasn’t done with the other things he does that bug his wife endlessly — and it’s a long list!

“She says, ‘Darling, I love you so much, but this is not presidential when you do the weightlifting, this is not presidential, or when you do the swimming thing, it’s not and you know, I understand, or when you dance off the stage,'” he continued while executing a weightlifting motion. Of course, the former president wasn’t done and took it one step further with a conversation we have a hard time believing ever happened in real life.

“She said, ‘Darling, I love you, I love you, but this is not presidential! You don’t dance off the stage. This is not presidential,'” Donald Trump claimed, “I said, ‘Look. We got a year to go. Everybody loves us. I love everybody. The country’s going to hell in a handbasket. Let’s do a little dancing.” It doesn’t sound like a conversation that would come out of Melania’s mouth, but voters do know that his presidential campaign does have her seal of approval — even if she’s absent from the spotlight.

“My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can lead us toward greatness and prosperity once again,” she confidently told Fox News this spring. Donald Trump might be embellishing her public speaking critiques, but that isn’t going to stop him from his political theatre performances.
