2023 has been a wild year, to put it lightly, even with the Trump family. Amid former US President Donald Trump’s legal woes, there have been reports of tensions rising in the family, with some basking in the spotlight to assist Donald and others avoiding it every chance they could get. However, the most noticeably absent Trump family member has been Donald’s wife Melania Trump.
Melania hasn’t been seen publicly since April 2023, when she quietly attended a Mar-a-Lago dinner (and a very small Fox News interview the following month that went under the radar). Questions about her whereabouts have been at an all-time high throughout Donald’s 2024 Presidential campaign, but Melania finally made an appearance (and it’s as low-key as you’d expect).
In photos obtained by DailyMail, Melania and Donald were pictured together arriving at their Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago, arriving with the hit song “Enter Sandman” blaring through the speakers.
Despite being their Halloween bash, both Melania and Donald didn’t don a costume. Donald opted for a suit, while Melania wore a black bodycon dress, stilettos, and a choker for the occasion.
It seems that while this is her first outing in months, it’s clear she wants to keep the outings on the more low-key, close-to-home side rather than on the campaign trail — which experts think could hurt Donald’s image.
“The reports were that she was angry, and she wanted nothing more to do with politics… and nothing more to do with campaigning. She wanted out and wanted to be a private person with her son,” said MeidasTouch Network writer Ron Filipkowski, via Newsweek. “And I absolutely believe that is the case. Trump and Trump’s campaign people fully understand, that’s going to be a big problem that if she doesn’t at least get out there a little bit and show her support, it’s going to look really bad.”
Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the former art director of the Met Gala and longtime Vogue staffer, was once friendly with Melania Trump in the way she figured a handful of other Upper East Side moms must be too. But what grew into a close friendship and Wolkoff’s agreement to plan Donald’s inauguration event turned into what Wolkoff calls a shocking betrayal during her time as Melania’s advisor. The full account is a remarkably clear picture of who Melania is and what role she plays in the White House in Melania and Me.
