After a celebrity gets a divorce, be it messy or even secretive, fans from all over become hyper aware of what they get up to next, especially when it comes to their love life. Are they going to go through a single phase? Will they start dating someone new right away?
For Kevin Costner, who finalized his bumpy divorce with ex-wife Christina Baumgartner in September, that couldn’t be more true. After all, after being married to Baumgartner for almost two decades, everyone’s curious about who the Hollywood icon could be interested in.
And, earlier this week, a source indicated Costner had his eyes on an unexpected A-lister: Reese Witherspoon. “Kevin’s had his eye on Reese ever since she won her Oscar, but he didn’t count on finding her absolutely charming as hell,” the New Idea insider shared, adding that it all started with Costner wanting to work with her in an upcoming project. Witherspoon won a Best Actress Oscar for Walk the Line back in 2006.
As a reminder, Witherspoon is also recently divorced having split from her ex-husband, Jim Toth, in March.
“They’ve been calling and texting on the pretense of finding the perfect script, but it’s becoming almost a daily occurrence,” the source continued. “No one is surprised that Kevin and Reese have hit it off,” the insider added. “They’re extremely compatible.”
Sadly, just a few days since the rumors came to light, The Morning Show star‘s team is already shutting it all down. “This story is completely fabricated and not true,” Witherspoon’s rep told Page Six.
Although it’s hard to determine was exactly is true and false, and if there’s even a middle ground between each source, we can only hope that there might be some truth to it. After all, we think they’d make quite a power couple!
