Sussex fans have been eagerly awaiting the work of Meghan Markle‘s new high-powered Hollywood team. It’s been months since she signed with William Morris Endeavor, so now, people are wondering what the holdup is with her career renaissance. Well, one royal expert seems to think Prince Harry‘s family feud is standing in her way.
This year was about the release of his memoir, Spare, and his father, King Charles III’s coronation after the 2022 death of Queen Elizabeth II. The headlines went back and forth over the struggles the Duke of Sussex had with his dad while Meghan sat back and watched some of their entertainment deals fall apart. However, royal expert Richard Kay shared his curious thoughts on the Palace Confidentialpodcast — he thinks it’s a Harry, not a Meghan issue right now. He claims her husband is “tainting her brand.”
Kay thinks it’s “harder” for Meghan to launch her new career objectives amid all of the royal rift headlines. “Is it because she wanted to give a bit more space to Harry who had so much to get off his chest this year with his ghastly book and his interviews about his family?” He questioned. “Maybe she wanted to put a bit of clear blue water between what he had to say and what she’s going to do next, didn’t want to taint her brand. However, what is her brand, and will that brand still be there? The longer she’s out of the public eye, the harder it will be to kickstart it.”
But Kay might be getting a bit ahead of himself as Hollywood has been mired in two strikes — actors and writers – and it’s now time for the holiday season. It’s hardly a time to launch a new brand. The Duchess of Sussex might have decided to wisely focus on her family until the New Year. Hollywood be wide open, everyone will be back on the job, and Meghan can finally reveal the hard work she’s been doing behind the scenes because the optics will be better. It will be a fresh year for them both, and we have a feeling Harry and Meghan are ready to take on whatever 2024 gives them.
