As the third richest people in the world, all eyes are on Jeff Bezos and he plans his undoubtedly extravagant wedding to fiancéeLauren Sánchez. But, despite the world attention, it looks like the two lovebirds are in no rush to tie the knot, and are taking their now five-month engagement one step at a time.
Talking to Vogue as their newest cover star, Sánchez said much of the wedding details are still up in the air. “We’re still thinking about the wedding,” she told the outlet. “Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged five months!”
As for how the former Amazon CEO plays a part in all the planning, Bezos admitted he’s taking the backseat. “Oh, God, no,” he said when asked if he’s helping out with wedding planning. “Do I look that dumb?”
Most of all, there’s one major event in their lives that is taking precedence at the moment: Bezos’ 60th birthday party in January. “It’s a huge birthday,” Sánchez said. “There is no slowing him down. He works all the time.”
And though Sánchez and Bezos, who got engaged in May of this year, are taking their time to walk down the aisle, the two weren’t shy about their love for each other. “I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos,” Sánchez said, “one hundred percent.”
“He’s the life of the party,” she said of Bezos. “He’s just extremely enthusiastic, and extremely funny. He can be really goofy. I mean, you’ve heard him laugh, right?”
Bezos, for his part, also gushed about his wife-to-be. “She has really helped me put more energy into my relationships,” the billionaire said. “She’s always encouraging me: ‘Call your kids. Call your dad. Call your mom.’ And she’s also just a very good role model. She keeps in touch with people.”
Hearing how lovingly these two talk about each other, it’s safe to say they’re focusing on their relationship right now before even having to say their “I do’s.” We’re so happy for them!
