When the late Matthew Perrysadly passed away on Oct 28, fans from all over the world felt the loss as if he was a close friend. And while we mourned the star’s unexpected passing, we sent love and best wishes to Perry family and friends, including, of course, his former co-stars from Friends.
And while the main cast of the hit sitcom – Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston – remained silent following Perry’s loss, one of them has recently decided to speak out. On Instagram, LeBlanc, the eternal Joey to Perry’s Chandler, said his goodbye.
“Matthew It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye,” LeBlance wrote in the caption. “The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.”
LaBlanc continued, hinting to Perry’s newfound freedom away from his struggles with addiction. “Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free,” he wrote. “Much love.”
As one of the funniest duos the silver screen has ever seen, the Episodes star concluded his heartwarming tribute with a joke. “And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me,” he ended.
In the comments, fans of Perry and LeBlanc are seen showing their support and sending some love. “So beautifully written, so sorry for your loss 🙏🏽💔😢,” wrote one user. “This must be so painful,” wrote another commenter. “So sorry 😢 he will be missed.” Looking at all the comments, it’s safe to say there’s not a dry eye in the room.
The other members of Friends‘ main cast, who were all spotted at Perry’s intimate funeral on Nov 3, per Daily Mail, have yet to speak out since his passing. Our hearts go out to them at this time.
