Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can’t seem to win when it comes to the royal family. After calling King Charles IIIto wish him a wonderful 75th birthday, they were accused of leaking the information to the press. If they hadn’t called, the Sussexes would have been slammed for not honoring the monarch on his milestone day. Make up your mind, everyone!

Of course, royal family sources have to find something to complain about, so they ran to Page Six to call Harry and Meghan “total hypocrites” for sharing details about the brief birthday exchange. “Harry and Meghan fight for privacy when it suits them, and yet the minute Harry gets on the phone to the King, it’s in a newspaper,” an insider claimed.

On the flip side, a Harry and Meghan pal swears that the couple had nothing to do with the apparent royal breach, but they were pleased with the “warm” nature of the phone call. There are reported plans for Harry to have follow-up communication with his estranged father, which is the first sign from both sides that there is willingness to end the family feud. Shouldn’t everyone be happy that the warring factors might finally find some peace? It sounds like royal insiders were prefer if Harry and Charles never reunited.

The other issue that might be driving negative headlines toward Meghan and Harry is the upcoming publication of Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival. The focus is on the inner workings of the palace and how certain forces drove Harry out and left him isolated from his family, even during the last days of Queen Elizabeth II’s life. Some royalists may not love that the royal family is catching heat again, so they are aiming the spotlight back on the Sussexes, which always seems to be the convenient route to take.
