When you think of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, chances are you think of them as one of the only Hollywood couples who have stood the test of time. Along with that, people have something to say about the fact that they’ve been together for 40 years without tying the knot. Most adore it, but some fans have been dying for a chic wedding from the two; but have more or less had those hopes dashed.
The lovebirds have shot down the notion of getting married over the years, but the Breakdown actor’s latest response has fans ultra-confused now.
In an interview for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Russell was asked again if he and Hawn would ever walk down the aisle together. And guess what? He teased it a bit. “I’ve been going with my girl for 40 years…” he said, “You know what, it’s come up in conversation, whereas it never used to.”
They’ve talked about it more recently? Longtime fans know how different this initial answer is compared to all his other answers, and of course, it’s led fans to speculate.
However, while it comes up in conversation, it seems they’re still more than happy with the life they have and the family they created. He added, “We have both been married, we’ve both done that, and you know what, we’ve lived our life. We’ve had our family, our family continues to grow, it’s fantastic.”

For those who don’t know, he repeated Hawn’s sentiments, more or less. In an early 2023 appearance with CNN via Hello, Hawn said: “Because we had been married. And because when it doesn’t work out, it ends up to be a big business.”
Before they got together in 1983, Hawn was married twice beforehand to Gus Trikonis and later Bill Hudson, and Russell was married once prior to Season Hubley. Then Hawn and Russell found one another when filming the movie The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band back in 1966, but reconnected when filming Swing Shift, and started dating on Valentine’s Day 1983.
They’ve been together ever since, and have given us adorable relationship gems like their Oscars interaction back in 1989 below:
Married or not, we will always adore these two together!
