The royal family is stretched to the max after the exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and they are struggling to keep up with the palace engagement schedule. King Charles III‘s “slimmed-down monarchy” might have been a noble idea, but it doesn’t seem to be working well for those with young families. That’s why King Charles III might have the perfect person in mind, someone who doesn’t have the parental responsibilities just yet.

Lady Louise Windsor, 20, the daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is rumored to be the next royal family member to step into a more senior role, along with Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. She’s more than ready to handle the spotlight after watching her parents take on their engagements gracefully

Gareth Russell, who wrote the upcoming book, The Palace: From the Tudors to the Windsors, 500 Years of British History at Hampton Court, toldGB News that Charles is at a crisis point when it comes to fulfilling the senior roles. “In 2023, the monarchy was never intended to be functioning without the Duke of Sussex,” he explained. “This means that either the Royal Family are going to have to start cutting back on the number of charities they patronize and a number of events they attend, or they are going to have to recruit three extra royals which would be the Princesses Beatrice, Eugenie, and their cousin Lady Louise.”

The burden has been falling on William, Kate, Edward, and Sophie, but “they’re not supposed to be covering as many events as they are currently.” That’s why Russell believes Charles needs to promote his nieces because it’s becoming an urgent matter. “To be functioning in a way whereby they can still give substantial support to the various causes and charities as they have for the past, they will need to have at least three working royals in the younger generation, i.e. Prince William’s generation, which will be Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Lady Louise Windsor,” he concluded. So what is King Charles waiting for?
