This Royal Is Allegedly Preventing King Charles & Prince Harry From Reconciling

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, the tension within the British Royal Family has been palpable. The strained relationships between the royals have been complex, to say the least, especially when it comes to King Charles’ difficult path to reconciliation with his youngest son.

Prince Harry’s memoir, which caused much upset within the royal family, has become a significant roadblock to this reconciliation. Harry’s recent statement expressing his desire to have his father and brother back, and wanting “a family, not an institution,” has added another layer of complexity to the situation.

Despite all this, King Charles reportedly expressed a “strategic need” to reconcile with his estranged son.

“Charles knows he doesn’t have many more birthdays or Christmases left and wants to try to repair the rift so that his grandchildren will be a part of the family like everyone else,” a source told OK, per Marie Claire. But even though King Charles is eager to make amends, that doesn’t mean it is going to be an easy road — or that someone close to Charles isn’t potentially going to be upset: Queen Camilla, who still has some strong feelings about Prince Harry’s memoir.

“There is virtually no chance of mending the damage between his two sons,” the source noted. “The Queen is also still very deeply hurt by the comments made about her and that’s another obstacle for Charles to overcome.”

This truly puts King Charles in the difficult position of trying to mend his relationship with Prince Harry. Queen Camilla has reportedly been vocal about her dislike for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex even before Harry’s memoir came out. His tell-all apparently only added to her distaste for the couple.

“For Charles, the whole thing has been painful and traumatic. The problem is that Harry and Meghan have caused so much damage, it’s hard to imagine how to repair it. But I’m sure that the King would like a solution,” Royal author Tom Bower told OK. “Charles has not only got William and Kate [to consider], but he’s also got Camilla, who was very insulted by Harry and Meghan too, so that makes it a great problem for him.”

Here’s hoping the royals find a way to make amends and are able to spend the holidays in at least a cordial manner.
