On Sunday, a host of A-listers descended upon the United Arab Emirates for the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It’s not surprising to see familiar faces on the racing scene, but one particular image caught everyone’s eye, especially when it was found on a Spice Girl’s Instagram account. Geri Halliwell-Horner, aka “Ginger Spice,” revealed that Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie have a Hollywood bestie in common.
Halliwell-Horner, whose husband Christian Horner is a Team Principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing, uploaded a very chummy snapshot of herself hanging out with Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank, Naomi Campbell, and Sussex pal, Orlando Bloom. The group of five looked pretty chummy as they all snuggled in for a group photo with Bloom’s arm resting on Brooksbanks’ knee — this is a circle of friends who know each other pretty well.
What makes this celebrity sighting so fascinating is that it comes on the heels of Harry and Meghan Markle’s support of Katy Perry’s final show of her Las Vegas residency earlier this month. The Sussexes are Montecito neighbors of Perry and Bloom and have struck up a warm friendship that seemed to have started over paparazzi sightings in their area. “Just two days ago, Orlando Bloom sent me a message — because he’s just down the road and we sort of keep in contact because of the paparazzi,” Harry revealed on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast in May 2021.
All of the celebs in the snapshot are tied to the royal family in some way with Perry headlining Charles’ Coronation Concert last May with Lionel Richie, and Bloom serving as an ambassador of The British Asian Trust, co-founded by Harry’s father. So the A-list stars are clearly not taking a side in the family feud.
What is cute, though, is that Harry and Eugenie share a love for F1, the Duke of Sussex was spotted at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas just last month. So even though the cousins are separated by an entire continent and the Atlantic Ocean, the duo, according to a People source, is “still the best of friends and talk constantly.” A family bond that can’t be broken.
