Kelly Ripa has been pretty vocal that her retirement from Live with Kelly and Mark is coming sooner versus later. She hasn’t set a date, but it’s something that she’s been thinking about quite a bit after sitting at the desk for 22 years. (Maybe she will aim for a milestone of 25 years?)

Whatever the 53-year-old TV personality decides, Ripa already knows what her next bucket-list dream item will be — and the answer might surprise you. She wants to get her college degree. The revelation came up during her on her podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, with guest, Chelsea Handler, who mentioned that she never went to college.

Ripa chimed in, “I didn’t go to college either, and every time I go to visit – our youngest son is at The University of Michigan – and every time I go to visit him… I’m like, ‘I’m going to go to college here.'” Her son, Joaquin, 20, is in his third year of school where he’s on the wrestling team and majoring in theater. “I’m finally going to when I retire from show business, I’m going to get my college degree, and I can’t wait to go to the University of Michigan,” she added.

Her husband, Mark Consuelos, 52, graduated with a marketing degree from the University of South Florida in 1994, while their oldest son, Michael, 26, and only daughter, Lola, 22, graduated from New York University. Ripa was likely inspired by all of their education journeys and now, she’s ready to embark on a new path once her TV career is done — term papers and exams are a part of her next chapter.
