AE Edwards and Cher are going strong. The lovebirds rekindled their romance back in September after attending Paris Fashion Week together. Since then, the Moonstruck Oscar-winner’s become more and more open about her relationship. During a recent appearance on Amelia Dimoldberg’s YouTube series Chicken Shop Date, Cher revealed the flirty moment that sparked her romance with Edwards.
“Did you fall in love very quickly?” Dimoldberg asks Cher in the below clip. “No. Not at all,” Cher replies. “I left to go to Switerzerland and he texted me,” she explains, referencing Edwards. “He said, you know, ‘Where are you going?’ and I said, ‘I’m going to Switzerland. I’m a little tired,'” she recalls of the initial text message exchange. But it was Edwards’ next message that totally surprised Cher.
“And then he wrote me, ‘Well, get some rest, babyyy’ with three y’s,” Cher says. “I went, ‘He doesn’t know me well enough to put three y’s on baby,” she says. Cher admits that she was “kind of pissed off” but how she was feeling. I mean, she wasn’t expecting that flirty little message or to suddenly fall for the person who sent it! “And then he just started texting me,” Cher says, as if to say the rest was history.
“I told my friends, ‘Don’t fall in love with a younger man. We’re too old. And don’t ever fall in love by text.’ There goes that theory,” she says. It’s really fun to get this little insight into how Cher’s romance started. Honestly, it’s so real and relatable. We really love Cher for feeling comfortable enough to disclose this sweet moment.
