When Pamela Anderson said she was leaning into her natural beauty she meant it. The 56-year-old actress is proving to be a fashion trendsetter on the red carpet by bucking any expectations and going the way she feels most comfortable: makeup free. Her latest appearance at the 2023 Fashion Awards in London on Monday proved just how stunning she is inside and out.
Anderson looked chic in a winter-white ensemble with wide-leg trousers, a long-sleeve shirt, and a significant cream blazer draped elegantly on her shoulders. She pulled her hair back in a casual ponytail because her glowing face was the showstopper on the red carpet. She looked happy and confident, proving that anyone can look glamorous on a big night out; it doesn’t require sparkles, false eyelashes, and a full face of makeup.
Her revolutionary idea of bucking societal expectations of women first came to light when she attended Paris Fashion Week. Her wardrobe was high fashion, but her makeup was barefaced and beautiful. She admitted to Vogue France in the fall that her earth-shattering move was a “freestyle” one. “I don’t need a stylist. I don’t have a stylist. I don’t have a glam team,” she explained. “I feel as a woman and a woman of my age, and a woman in the public eye… it’s also your job to be a model of everything. Just all sorts of choices. So I am just being me, kind of who I am, in all these great clothes running around Paris.”
The fashion and beauty world took notice and Anderson is a top invite for any major designer. Anyone who is shaking up the industry and making headlines is exactly the disruptor society needs because of the positive message she’s sending. “I don’t know, something just kind of came over me, and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes, and I thought, ‘I don’t want to compete with the clothes.’ I’m not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room,” Anderson powerfully shared. “I feel like it’s just freedom. It’s a release.”
